Globally, attacks against SWIFT, ATM’s and cardholder data are specifically targeted at the victim bank. Most organisations are blind to the specific threats targeting their business, industry, or location. Without the technology, processes, and skills to make threats visible, companies are left vulnerable.
The aim of deception technology is to prevent a cybercriminal who has managed to infiltrate a network from doing any significant damage. The technology works by generating breadcrumbs, baits, lures and deception decoys that mimic legitimate technology assets throughout the infrastructure. These decoys can run in a virtual or real operating system environment and are designed to trick the cybercriminal into thinking they have discovered a way to escalate privileges and steal credentials. Once a trap is triggered, notifications are broadcasted to a centralized deception server that records the affected decoy and the attack vectors that were used by the cybercriminal.
How do you keep a cybercriminal who has managed to infiltrate your network from doing real damage? Deceive them! Make them think that they’ve found paydirt, when they are caught in your trap and interacting with decoys.
